Rooted in Panipat’s storied textile traditions, our journey began in 1986 under the vision of Mr. Sanjay Mittal, who established the business with 21 looms. As a partner at Shiv Shakti Exports, he led the production and sampling departments, building a reputation for precision, innovation, and trust. Under his leadership, the company scaled remarkable heights, achieving a turnover of up to ₹200 crore and becoming a respected name in both domestic and international textile markets.
By 1996, the business had expanded into the global market, and in the early 2000s, Mr. Mittal pioneered a shift towards sustainable practices. By integrating recycled yarns and chindi waste into production, he positioned the company as an early adopter of eco-conscious manufacturing, turning waste into value and redefining possibilities in textile design.
This commitment to innovation, sustainability, and quality craftsmanship laid a strong foundation that helped the business achieve an international export turnover of ₹150 crore by 2017.
In November 2024, to carry this legacy forward with renewed purpose, Mr. Sanjay Mittal, along with his children, launched Agate Home Fashions. More than a brand, Agate embodies the family’s vision of blending heritage with sustainability and forward-thinking design — where every product reflects decades of expertise, tradition, and responsibility towards the planet.
